Eric La Gra was my broker with Mercury Auto Transport for a relatively short haul (230 miles.) Because it was a short haul, it took a few more days than I'd like to find a carrier who would take the job. Eric priced the job in such a way as to allow flexibility for the carrier to negotiate, and while we did end up higher than his initial quote, it was understandable and I was aware from the beginning that the price would probably have to be flexible in order to make the job appealing to carriers. Eric's level of attentiveness, transparency, and honesty through the process made all the difference. He provided a lot of information to help me have context about the vehicle shipping process and how jobs are priced and accepted by carriers. He warned me about common "hard-sell" tactics other brokers use, so that I wasn't fooled by them when other brokers attempted to aggressively get me to take the job away from him and give it to them.
The most important thing I learned from Eric is, when a broker says, "we happen to have trucks near your pickup location right now" they are lying.
