I'm taking the time to write this as a warning to auto transporters to not use this broker because of a bad experience for me as well as the carrier.
I commissioned a pick up date for my car and explained to JR that I lived 8 hours from the delivery address so it would not be possible to pay the driver in cash. JR said he would accept a credit card for total payment. The car arrived 3 days late. I told the driver that the whole amount due was paid by credit card and he said ok and left. A couple of weeks later I get a very threatening phone call from someone from New Jersey with a thick Russian accent that said something to the affect of "you pay me cash now or I will arrive at your house and I WILL be paid!" I explained to him that it was not my house so I wouldn't be there and that JR had taken payment via Visa. He called JR and JR would not put it on my card which left the driver out to dry. JR charged my card for his commission, lied to me about the driver's pay and never did make it right. JR told me he had not agreed to take the card and had it in writing so I told him to email that to me as proof that I was mistaken. He never did, which proved to me that he lied to get the job and did not care at all about the carrier.
The carrier called back apologetically and said he would be able to take a credit card in about two weeks. I said ok. Six weeks later a floor company called me and said he was collecting for the carrier. I reluctantly gave him my info knowing my card company would go after anyone committing fraud. In the end it all worked out but I would NEVER recommend this outfit to anyone. Very poor business model.
Autotransport123 quoted me $225. as their fee (another nightmare that went on for a month with no pick up) and Doortodoor quoted $595 which I was willing to pay as I had waited a month and a half from the time I first tried to ship this car to when it was finally delivered.
