I first put my details on a national website (carship, autotransportdirect etc.) that sent my request for quote to multiple companies. I was offered a competitive quote at Ultimate Transport 123 by one of the agents and she promised to not share my information in their national trucking portal because they had their own network of truck drivers. That was not the case. On seeing my request in the national portal, I got calls from other companies competing for offers because they saw the request posted by the above agent. After some angry conversations, the manager of Ultimate Transport 123 stepped in and took care of things. From there on, everything went smooth. Note that once you sign their 'contract' and provide your credit card number, they have a 10 day 'lock-in' period during which if you choose to go with a different transport company, you are charged $250 fee. Make sure you read the fine print before signing.
