PROMISE AND THEN START NEGOTIATING

I was given a price of $825 and promised that the company "owned our own vehicles".

Neither was true. When you think you have an agreement with them, Be prepared for renegotiations over and over again.

Then I was told it would be $975 for a pickup the following Thursday or Friday.

Then I called on both days to find out what was going on. Late Friday morning I was called by "Tom" and told that they did not own their own trucks and nobody would have told me that.

He also told me the pickup would be that day if I would pay $1275.

The routine appears to be to get a commitment from the buyer and then wait until the last possible day when all options are expired and raise the price 20-30 percent.

The price rose to the point of absurdity. I decided to drive my vehicle the 1000 miles and save the $1275 and the $600 for airfare. The gas to drive there will be only about $310.
